Me 2?
U2 is a band that comes from Dublin. It features Bono on vocals, The Edge on guitar, Adam Clayton on bass and Larry Mullen Jr. on drums. Formed in 1976, all the current members of the band were there when they started. They were a seven piece band which was eventually whittled down to the four man act that you see today.
By the 1980s, the band had become a top international act. It was known for its anthemic style, Bono’s distinctive vocals, and The Edge’s unique guitar sound. But they were more known for their live act than their ability to sell records. This changed with the release of their sixth studio album, The Joshua Tree. This release elevated the band to rock royalty. U2 also did well in responding to changing musical trends with their subsequent album, Achtung Baby. This type of adaptation continued into the 1990s. In the 2000s, U2 returned to a more traditional approach of their music.
They have sold more than 170 million albums in their storied career. They have also won more Grammy awards than any other band. In their first year of eligibility, the band was inducted in the the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame. Considered one of the greatest musical acts of all time, their shows are known to be euphoric light and sound feasts for the senses. They are also very active in human rights causes as evidenced with their work for Amnesty International, the ONE movement, and DATA.
